Formal Educational Offerings in Cybersecurity and Digital Trust

 

Midwest VICEROY Institute

Ohio State students are eligible and encouraged to apply to the VICEROY Scholars Program to receive scholarship funds upon completing cybersecurity training coures. 

The Midwest VICEROY Institute (MVI) is a virtual institute across three member universities - the University of Kansas (KU), the Ohio State University (OSU), and Purdue University Northwest (PNW). The MVI is making interdisciplinary contributions to tackle crucial, emerging issues in cybersecurity and electromagnetic spectrum research, and provide experiential learning opportunities in cyber & EMS operations.

Courses run every ten weeks and deadline to apply is roughly 10-14 days before start of course. 

January 16 – March 10, 2024
March 25 – May 19, 2024
June 3 – July 28, 2024
August 12 – October 6, 2024

Extra notes not on the program webpage:  

  • You must complete the (free to you) courses before receiving the scholarship
  • The Security Certification Scholarship
    • Bad news: it does not include the cost of your certificaiton exam. (ICDT is considering a program to aid in this expense.)
    • Good news: it does not matter if you pass it, but you must attempt it.  
  • Security+ and CyberOps courses are offered on a fairly regular basis (nearly every 10 weeks). CEH and Cloud are not as consistent, but usually available every few cycles. 
  • ALL offerings are online, including research and summer programs.  
  • Language training/ proficiency is in Chinese. No other options are available for this program.
