Are you interested in pursuing technical or managerial positions within the cybersecurity field?

On February 15th, Senior Engineer Bob Pardee will discuss his entry into cybersecurity from other areas of IT, progression to increasingly technical roles, then to senior cybersecurity management, and back. The event will occur virtually from 5 to 6 p.m.

Bob Pardee began his career in networking and system administration. His first career transition was into software development, focusing heavily on web development, network monitoring, and computer-based training development. After the .com bubble burst, Bob transitioned into a cybersecurity engineering role in state government. From there he progressed through multiple positions eventually being appointed as Deputy Chief Information Security officer for the state. Things never stay the same however, and rather than stay and pursue higher levels of management, Bob came to Ohio State in a senior technical security role and is now part of OSU’s red team, assessing the security of university systems.
