U.S. Department of Defense offers Full-Ride Scholarship for Cyber Students

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) is offering a Cyber Scholarship Program (CySP) to support the recruitment of skilled cyber talent and prepare the upcoming DoD workforce to defend against evergrowing threats.

$$$ The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition, as well as books, a one-time computer/laptop purchase, travel costs to attend a cyber-related conference, a room and board stipend of $27,000/year, and any required fees.

The application is due Wednesday, February 1 at 11:59 p.m. 

Students must be 18 years of age or older, a U.S. citizen at the time of application, and pursuing a course of study and/or have a declared major in one of the scientific, technical, or managerial disciplines related to cyber or with a concentration in cybersecurity. During the August 2023 academic year, students should be

  • beginning 2nd year of associate degree (with continuation to a 4-year degree program); or
  • beginning 3rd or 4th year of undergraduate degree program; or
  • beginning the 1st or 2nd year of master’s degree program; or
  • pursuing doctoral students

Upon graduation, recipients of the scholarship must agree to serve one year for the DoD for every year or partial year the scholarship was received, as well as participate in a required internship.
