The National Security Agency is holding its second consecutive summer internship for students to gain hands-on experience in the High-Performance Computing (HPC) field. The internship, located at the Laboratory for Physical Sciences in Catonsville, Maryland, is recommended for students projected to graduate in Spring 2024 who are majoring in math, computer science, computer science engineering, or similarly related fields. The selected students will work in small groups with peers from other institutions, guided by NSA technical experts to explore HPC and future computing problems. Throughout the 8 weeks, interns will grow to understand NSA as an organization, its career opportunities, and its overall mission.

Applications are accepted from October 31st, 2022, to January 31st, 2023. Interns will be provided with a $750/week stipend, as well as travel, lodging, and meals. The internship will run from June 12th, 2023, to August 4th, 2023, and the opportunity is only available to US citizens. Applicants are required to have some experience using Linux, command line skills, scripting and programming experience, and the ability to work as a team.
